We love the idea of the smart home here at RP, and Elgato seems to be on the same page as us. The company has announced not one, but two new HomeKit-enabled accessories in the Eve Aqua and Eve Flare, and they’re both pretty interesting in their own right.
Starting off with the Eve Aqua, as that name might suggest, this is an accessory that is a smart water controller, timer, and even water usage meter that ties into Apple’s HomeKit. Capable of controlling sprinklers or a full-on irrigation system via the Eve app or, of course, Apple’s Home app, the addition of HomeKit support also means that your flowers can be watered using the power of your voice and Siri.

Being a HomeKit accessory, the Eve Aqua can also take advantage of autonomous scheduling and if you have an iPad or an Apple TV, then everything can be handled remotely while you’re out and about. All data collected by the accessory is fed back to the Eve app for your perusal, too. Costing $99.95, the unit isn’t cheap, and it can be pre-ordered from Elgato’s website today.
Moving on, we have the Eve Flare, a HomeKit-enabled LED lamp that will only be available to readers in Europe. Essentially a round and multi-colored lamp that can live both indoor and outdoors, the Eve Flare is water resistant and can offer up to six hours of light on a single charge.

The charging is done wirelessly and there’s even a carry handle for when you need to take it into the garden. Priced 99 Euros (~$114), the light is also available for pre-order today although as we said, you’ll need to be in Europe in order to do so.
