With Apple’s new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro devices set to go on sale next week and pre-orders kicking off tomorrow, early benchmark numbers appear to show that those picking up a new iPhone 13 Pro are in for a treat.
According to Geekbench graphics tests, iPhone 13 Pro is around 55% faster than last year’s iPhone 12 Pro.
The numbers, spotted by MacRumors, have the iPhone 13 Pro scoring 14216 in Geekbench’s Metal test. By comparison, the iPhone 12 Pro from last year scored 9123 in its own tests.
Apple’s new iPhone 13 Pro ships with the new A15 Bionic chip with two high-performance cores and four efficiency cores. It also features a five-core GPU, something that is no doubt helping it to perform so admirably in these graphics tests. The RAM on the iPhone 13 lineup however, remains the same as last years models. It also shows that the new iPhones should be a reasonable upgrade for anyone wanting to make the most of their Apple Arcade subscription, for example.
Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro will join the iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 mini when all four go on sale next Friday, September 24. All four iPhones will also be made available for pre-order tomorrow, September 17.
The newly refreshed iPad and iPad mini will also go on sale next Friday, making it quite the launch day for Apple Stores around the world.
