Dyson’s New OnTrac Headphones Have A 55-Hour Battery And Incredible Customization

Dyson might be a company more familiar to people who buy the company’s vacuum cleaners, but it’s also a company that has started to dip its toe into the world of technology as well.

The latest aspect of that is the OnTrac headphones, a pair of $499.99 noise-canceling headphones that offer incredible customization options.

The headphones promise impressive ANC capabilities that sample the external noise 384,000 times per second, allowing them to better counter that noise for the wearer.

But that is just the start of the good stuff, with the headphones also promising up to 55 hours of battery life which is a big improvement over the comparable AirPods Max which manage just 20 hours per charge. Charging is done by USB-C and a 10-minute charge adds an additional 2.5 hours of use, too.

The more interesting part for some people, however, will be the customization options at hand. While the AirPods Max make it easy to swap out their ear cushions, they’ve nothing on the Dyson OnTrac.

Dyson’s system allows the ear cushions and outer caps to be swapped out, both of which are available in multiple different colors. There are four main color configurations available at launch however, and the headphones will officially go on sale on August 1 with the customization components then sold separately for those who want to go that route.
