Download: tvOS 11.4, watchOS 4.3.1 Final Version Released

To go along with and compliment the release of iOS 11.4, Apple has today released a slew of other updates to its major software platforms as well. Apple TV, and Apple Watch owners are now able to download and install tvOS 11.4 and watchOS 4.3.1 with immediate effect.

We’ve been expecting these releases to come and now they are here for all compatible hardware. Without further ado, let’s just dive right in and see what we know about each new release.

tvOS 11.4: tvOS 11.4 is an update designed to work in perfect harmony with devices running Apple’s latest iOS 11.4 release. It reintroduces AirPlay 2 features, allowing audio content to be played on multiple compatible devices throughout the home. Also added is the ability to play content on Apple TV via Siri on an iOS 11.4-running iPhone or iPad. Apple TV running tvOS 11.4 will also now show up in the Home app on an iOS device as long as that device is running iOS 11.4. Apple has included bug fixes and overall improvements as well in this release.

watchOS 4.3.1: watchOS 4.3.1 doesn’t introduce any huge functionality or feature improvements, which is to be expected considering the relatively minor bump in versioning. It does however come with a new user-facing alert designed to inform users that specific apps will not be compatible with future versions of watchOS, suggesting that support for watchOS 1 is going to be removed in the near future. Aside from that, watchOS 4.3.1 is nothing more than a bug fix and performance improvement release.

Anyone with a compatible Apple TV or Apple Watch is able to grab the latest tvOS and watchOS OTA updates right now from the respective update mechanisms found on the respective devices themselves.
