Download: macOS 27 Golden Gate Final Version Released, Get It Now

You can now download the final, finished version of macOS 27 Golden Gate and install it on your Mac at home. This comes after months of beta testing which saw developers and public beta program members put the update to the test.

Apple releases big new versions of macOS every year and it’s been beta testing macOS 27 Tahoe ever since it was announced at WWDC in June.

This release also comes alongside the iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27 updates which are also now available for download.

The macOS 27 update brings Siri AI to the Mac, much like Apple’s other platforms. The feature brings tighter Siri integration with apps and services, as well as adding a chatbot-like app and interface to the Mac.

Apple also tweaked the controversial Liquid Glass user interface and brought new Apple Intelligence features to some of its apps. Performance improvements and better support for high-resolution external displays are also part of this update.

This update is the first to remove support for Apple Mac computers with Intel chips inside. That means that you’ll need to have a Mac with an Apple-designed M-series chip in order to install macOS 27 Golden Gate.

The full list of compatible Macs includes:

  • MacBook Air M1 or later
  • MacBook Pro M1 or later
  • MacBook Pro 16-inch M1 Pro or later
  • MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 or later
  • iMac M1 or later
  • Mac mini M1 or later
  • Mac Studio M1 Max or later
