Apple has today released for download iOS 18.4 beta 4 and iPadOS 18.4 beta 4 to developers, The release comes a week after Apple shared the third beta with the same group ahead of what is expected to be a final release next month.
This new beta is expected to be released to those who are on the public beta program imminently, while registered developers can download it via the usual software update mechanism in the Settings app.
However, we would suggest only doing that if you have a dedicated device for such things – bugs should be expected.
The iOS 18.4 update will bring with it a number of new features, including Priority Notifications. The feature is part of Apple Intelligence and will use AI to decide which incoming notifications are most important. They will then be highlighted on the Lock Screen to ensure they are noticed.
Other improvements include the addition of a new Sketch style to the Image Playground feature, while Apple Intelligence will also be available in more languages including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified). Localized English for India and Singapore will also be added.
Finally, downloaders will get a new Apple Vision Pro app for managing the headset, while new emojis will also be available, too.
As for the iPad, the Apple Intelligence Mail Categorization feature is finally debuting on Apple’s tablet, while a new Ambient Music feature will be added to Control Center.
