Apple has released for download iOS 18.2 RC version OTA profile and IPSW file links for iPhone, here are the details on the release.
The release comes two weeks after last beta was seeded, which was beta 4, and is currently available to download to developers registered on Apple Developer Program portal only. Apple is expected to make it available to public beta testers shortly.
As for what’s new in iOS 18.2, well, Apple is releasing second-wave of Apple Intelligence features as part of this release. This includes features such as Visual Intelligence for iPhone 16 series, Genmoji, Image Playground, Image Wand, ChatGPT integration, and more.
Before iOS 18.2, Apple released first-wave of Apple Intelligence features as part of iOS 18.1 release after originally promising them as part of iOS 18.0 announcement. iOS 18.1 included new Siri animation, notifications summaries, Writing Tools, and more.
In order to download iOS 18.2 RC, head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device and grab the OTA update from there. Alternatively, you can grab IPSW file from developer.apple.com and updating your device using Finder on Mac, or iTunes on Windows.
Apple is expected to release final version of iOS 18.2 to public next Monday, on December 9. We will of course be covering it in detail on release day. Stayed tuned to us for more on this space.
