You can now download iOS 18 public beta 2 OTA update file along with iPadOS 18 public beta 2 for iPhone and iPad users. Here are the details on this release.
Alongside iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, Apple has also released public beta 2 for macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, tvOS 18 and HomePod 18.
The aforementioned releases come only a day after Apple released them for developers in the form of beta 4 seed. In order to install the update, make sure you’re enrolled into Apple Beta Software Program by heading over to beta.apple.com and then signing in using your Apple ID.
Once enrolled on the portal, on your device, simply head over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates section and then make sure you select iOS 18 Public Beta option, as can also be seen in the screenshot below.
Once that is also done, go back to Settings > General > Software Update section and wait for it to load OTA update install prompt. Once it shows up, simply tap on “Download and install” button to begin downloading and installing the latest public beta software.
If you already have public beta 1 installed, which Apple released about 10 days ago, you can skip all the steps and simply head to Settings > General > Software Update section and grab the OTA update from there.
It’s important to note that Apple still hasn’t enabled Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18 developer or public betas yet. It’s likely the coming betas will have them. So if you’re interested in Apple Intelligence features, we recommend waiting as it seems like it’s still a bit early to install this version of software in this stage of its beta cycle.
As always, we will keep you updated as and when we learn more on this. Stay tuned.
