Apple has today released a slew of new public beta updates giving people their first opportunity to install iOS 18, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11 on their devices at home.
Apple announced the new software during the WWDC 2024 event on June 10 via an online stream and there have been a handful of developer betas released since then.
The new public beta program does offer non-developers the chance to take the new software for a spin for the very first time ahead of an expected final release to the world this coming September.
While developer betas have been around for around a month, this is the first time that the public beta program has come online for Apple’s 2024 round of updates.
They can all be downloaded for free, but people will first need to head to the Apple public beta program website in order to register their Apple ID and then download the updates to their iPhone, Apple TV, Mac, or Apple Watch.
However, while these are beta updates made available to the public it’s important to remember that there are likely to be bugs and issues, some of them potentially breaking critical features. If you need your iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, or Apple TV to function as expected at all times we definitely suggest giving the betas a miss.
Our recommendation would always be to wait for the final version of these updates to be released, but if you really cannot wait to try out all of the new features now is your chance.
