Apple has released for download iOS 17 RC and iPadOS 17 RC IPSW links and OTA update, and they can both now be installed — here are all the details we have.
Apple has been beta testing iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 since they were announced on June 5 as part of the WWDC event, but we’re now getting closer than ever to the software rolling out to iPhones and iPads around the world.
As the latest step towards that happening we now have the first Release Candidate (RC) update ready for developers to download.
Developers who do want to download this latest RC release can do that right now via the Settings app so long as they are signed into the Apple ID that’s registered as a developer. Unless anything goes wrong with this latest RC we expect this to be the last beta before the final release, bringing an end to another beta program.
If Apple does notice any issues in this beta we can perhaps expect a quick fix to be rolled out very quickly indeed to ensure that the final update can meet Apple’s desired timeframe. Remember, Apple needs to be able to ship new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models with this software preinstalled towards the end of September and it will want all show-stopping bugs out of the way before that happens.
