Apple has today released for download iOS 17 beta 7 and iPadOS 17 beta 7, and they can both now be installed — here are all the details we have.
As Apple continues to work towards making iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 available to the public this fall, it continues to work its way through the beta process ahead of time. It’s been releasing iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 betas ever since the software updates were both previewed during the WWDC event on June 5.
This seventh beta is now available to registered developers and we can surely expect it to be released to those on the public beta program within the next few days, too.
It’s too early to know what has gone into these two latest beta updates but these weekly beta updates are most likely aimed at making sure that all bug fixes are applied before the expected mid-September release of the finished product to the public.
All of the new features that are going to make the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 release next month are likely already there — everything that isn’t yet finished will instead have to wait for iOS 17.1 or iPadOS 17.1, updates that are likely to arrive before the end of 2023.
The iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 updates will likely have new beta releases arrive next week, but the former will have to be locked in soon — Apple will need iOS 17 finished in time to preinstall it on the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series ready for sale towards the end of September.
