You can now download iOS 15.6.1 IPSW and OTA files along with those of iPadOS 15.6.1 for iPhone and iPad. Here are the details on the releases and where you can get those files.
Apple has been releasing its latest iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 betas to developers and those on the public beta program for some time now and both updates are expected to be made available to the world next month.
However, Apple has also released the latest versions of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. You can now download iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1, but don’t expect a big list of new features.
Instead, these updates are more about fixing bugs and improving performance. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t download them, though. It’s always worth updating to the latest versions of Apple’s software just in case there are bigger improvements under the hood.
There are two ways to get your hands on these updates. Those who want to download the update over the air can do that right now — just head into the Settings app and begin the download process by tapping on General and then Software Updates. For everyone else, you can download the IPSW files manually using the links below.
