Download: Hangouts Meet APK File For Android Now Available

Now that Hangouts from Google has been split in two, it was inevitable that the more exclusive of the two apps; Hangouts Meet became a sought after app, and we are happy to oblige by making it available as an APK download.

Hangouts Meet unlike Hangouts Chat, is one that has functions exclusive to customers who also happen to be members of the G Suite plan. So when the app was first delivered to the iOS App Store, it was a slightly unnerving period for many die-hard Android fans, but that’s a bygone now as the availability of the Hangouts Meet APK file is set to break down all those walls, well some at least.

With this APK, Android users who don’t happen to be G Suite customers will be able to sideload the Hangouts Meet app onto their smartphone or tablet, and give it a whirl for fun’s sake.

Google had been looking to revamp the Hangouts experience for some time now, and it was only inevitable that the Mountain View-based giant targeted business segment of the market. Hangouts Meet has been designed to be as simple as possible with conferencing functions that are to the point, as has been seen earlier with the release of the Allo and Duo apps.

Users can set up meetings with up to 30 participants via the web, the mobile app in this case right now, or a telephone call if the business is a G Suite Enterprise customer. With no plugins required, Hangouts Meet could just be the savior to many conferencing jitters that small business tend to experience.

All that said, there’s no better way to understand what Google has to offer with Hangouts Meet than by getting it up and running on your Android device, and that too without restrictions of any sort.

Simply head over to the download link here using your phone or tablet, and download the APK in a ZIP package. (Tip: To download from Mega on your Android device directly without downloading the Mega app, simply request the Mega download page to be opened in desktop mode in your web browser and then you should be able to download it directly without the app.)

Make sure Unknown sources is enabled in Settings > Security (may be named differently depending on your device). That done, you can now unzip the contents of the ZIP package using any file explorer app, dig into the extracted folder and install the Hangouts Meet APK file in a jiffy!
