You can now download Google’s Android 14 for Pixel phones. Here are the details.
Google is now rolling out an updated version of the Android software to its Pixel devices, bringing Android 14 to phones around the world.
The new Android 14 update isn’t one that is full of fancy new features but it’s an update that still has some worthwhile improvements.
There’s a new collection of eight clock styles for the Pixel lock screen, while the lock screen shortcuts can also be chosen from a collection that includes Wallet, Camera, Mute, and more.
The main Android interface now has a new look including a Material You refresh. The main differences between Android 13 and Android 14 are in the software looks including a new look Share sheet, revamped Quick Settings, and more. You can also have your Pixel phone’s flashlight light up when you receive a notification, too.
More important changes include a new support for third-party password manager apps by the Credential Manager API, while Health Connect is now part of Android 14 and gets its updates via the Google Play System Updates instead of an app that’s available in the Play Store.
All of that and more is available as a free download for the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold. We’d suggest taking it for a spin when you can, too.
