Download Firefox 18 Final For Windows, Mac & Linux

Mozilla has delivered the latest of its ongoing, sixth-weekly updates to Firefox, pushing the browser up to version 18.0. As you may expect, the company has packed in a whole bunch of new features, and while most concern the overall running and general performance of the app (read: under the hood housekeeping), there are one or two which many will notice from the get-go. Details, and info on where you can grab the new Firefox, are available after the break!

For those using the MacBook Pro with Retina display, Firefox can now be added onto the slowly growing list of apps which fully support the crisp resolution panel. The smaller, 13-inch model boasts an incredible 2560 x 1600 res., and now, those looking to enjoy a crisp browsing experience needn’t cling to the mediocrity Safari.

Firefox 18 also offers faster JavaScript performance via IonMonkey compiler, preliminary support for WebRTC, as well as improved general image quality thanks to an updated HTML scaling algorithm.

In terms of getting hold of Firefox 18, you guys must know the drill by now. Aside from updating via the Firefox browser itself, you can also do so by heading over to Firefox.com, which will navigate you through to the appropriate page on Mozilla’s webpage. It makes zero difference which way you feel inclined to update, but some prefer to have the installation file downloaded in a familiar folder, and installed on their watch.

As you head over to the official download page, it will automatically detect your installed operating system, and prepare the file specific to your particular OS. As ever, I’m a die-hard Chromester, and even run the iOS version on my iPhone and iPad – despite the restrictions beset by Apple. With updates arriving at frequent intervals for both Chrome and Firefox – the far and away leaders in the grand spectrum of browsing clients – I always test out the new features of both, since I firmly subscribe to the notion that software is one update away from either imploding, or improving spectacularly.

It’s always good to keep an open mind, and I will be checking out the new Firefox. Be sure to lend us your own thoughts and critiques by dropping a comment via our Facebook or Google+ pages.
