Apple has released the final public versions of watchOS 6.1.1, tvOS 13.3, and macOS 10.15.2. With immediate effect, owners of a compatible Apple Watch, Apple TV, or Mac can download and install the latest versions of their platform and start benefitting from the latest improvements.
Regardless of whether or not Apple has bundled in a slew of new features, the new OS update day is always a good day for anyone with compatible hardware.
There is always a certain level of excitement associated with downloading updated and taking an opportunity to dive in to see what’s new and how it has affected your device. So, without further ado, let’s take a peek at each release and see what Apple has in store for us.
watchOS 6.1.1: As you can likely tell from the versioning, watchOS 6.1.1 is a relatively minor point update offering little more than performance improvements and various bug fixes. With that said, it’s still an extremely important release on the watchOS 6 journey and will exist to tie up a number of issues that slipped through with the release of watchOS 6.1. If you have a compatible Apple Watch, you can grab the latest watchOS 6.1.1 update right now.
tvOS 13.3: As with historical tvOS updates, this one is relatively minor in terms of what it offers and generally comes with bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance enhancements. In addition, compatible Apple TV owners will also be able to benefit from a new feature that allows the TV+ app to have its interface switched between What to Watch and Up Next, depending on your own preference. You can dive into this via Settings > Apps > TV and then toggling from there.
macOS 10.15.2: macOS Catalina may be a huge update but macOS 10.15.2 is definitely not. Throughout the betas, there were no new features to be found and the public release hasn’t turned up anything, either. This release is about stability. It’s about bug fixing. And it’s about ensuring that everything is as streamlined as one can reasonably expect across all supported Macs. If you have one of those supported Macs, then you can grab it right now.
