Download CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies Android 4.4 KitKat For Nexus 4, 5, 7 And 10

Undeterred by Google's decision to pull the plug on the CyanogenMod Installer from the Play Store, CM has continued to progress and prosper, and with CyanogenMod 11 M1 now out and about, we can get a sneak preview of what it will eventually entail.

At this point in time, it's worth considering CyanogenMod 11 M1 is only available to those wielding "actively AOSP-supported Nexus devices." This is because the process of bug reporting can begin right away, and so if you came here hoping to get involved with CM 11 but don't own a Nexus (excluding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus), then unfortunately, you're going to have to wait for the nightly builds to start releasing.

Android KitKat 4.4 might have only been around for a short length of time, but modders tend to get a little impatient with stock firmware, even if it's brand-spanking new. Hence, if you happen to own a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012, 2013) or a Nexus 10, then you can give the M1 release of CM 11 a crack.

As aforementioned, nightlies will crop up at some point in the near future for other users, and considering how quickly the CM team is working right now, you probably won't be waiting for too long. As soon as the process begins, we'll give you the heads-up, so stay tuned!

The CyanogenMod team rarely slacks, but even by their standards, it has been a really busy past couple of weeks. Not too hectic, however, to have any major effect on the schedule it would seem, for CyanogenMod M1 has just been released, supporting most Nexus devices in the process. As we learned earlier on in the week, CyanogenMod 10.2 would be the last version supporting those old Android Jelly Bean ROMs, and in a matter of just 72 hours, the "Milestone 1" release of the Android 4.4 KitKat-based version 11 is upon us.

Whenever I encounter the work of the CyanogenMod team, I am always taken slightly aback by just how much hard graft goes into its creation and maintenance. Some feared, when the group decided to form a proper company earlier on in the year, that the structure might change to the detriment of CyanogenMod and its users, but in fairness, it’s been more like business as usual.
