You can now download BetterHomeDepot 1.0.2, which offers iOS 9.3.x jailbreak untethered for 32-bit devices running iOS 9.1 to iOS 9.3.4. Here’s what is new in the latest BetterHomeDepot update.
For those that may not be in the know, or who find themselves with a passing interest in modern jailbreaking but don’t keep regularly abreast of all new developments, BetterHomeDepot is a package available via Cydia which introduces an untethered experience to the device it is installed on. It was released earlier this month by Tihmstar, and offers compatibility purely with 32-bit devices running iOS 9.1 through iOS 9.3.4. In that time that has followed the package has been updated regularly to introduce additional device offsets.
Previous updates, as well as this latest update to version 1.0.2, have been not only to introduce under-the-hood improvements, bug fixes, and improvements but to also bring new support for additional devices through the addition of device offsets. This latest version offers out-of-the-box support for iPhone 4s hardware running iOS 9.3.2 as well as Apple’s iPad2,4 model running iOS 9.3.3. Both sets of offsets have been tested prior to the launch of the update, with the release notes included in the package attributing the testing responsibilities to @THEpaduser and @Kryswade, respectively.
The update to BetterHomeDepot version 1.0.2. means that there are now four officially out-of-the-box supported devices in total that can be instantly taken to an untethered status without any additional fuss on input by users. And of course, those savvy users with enough knowledge and insight can still add additional offsets into the BetterHomeDepot experience to support their own device, as long as it is a 32-bit unit running a version of iOS which is supported by the BetterHomeDepot experience.
For those who have been sitting on the fence with iPhone 4s or the WiFi-only iPad 2, and who have been waiting for their hardware to be officially supported without any further interaction or requirement on their part, that time is now.
As long as the device is already jailbroken using one of the compatible jailbreaks, it is possible to head over to Cydia and grab the updated BetterHomeDepot solution right now. For those who already have it installed, the update will be showing as an update through Cydia once the sources are refreshed.
