Apple has today released the third beta version of iPadOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2 to developers ahead of an expected public release in September. Here is everything you need to know.
The new iPadOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2 betas are all here alongside the updated iOS 18 beta and they can all be installed right now by those who are registered developers and have a spare device or are willing to install these updates on their main one.
iPadOS 18
Apple’s iPadOS 18 software update is going to bring a number of new features to the iPad including support for Apple Intelligence, although that isn’t present in this current beta. The update can of course be downloaded via the Settings app assuming you’re a registered developer and are signed in with the associated Apple ID.
macOS 15 Sequoia
The macOS Sequoias update will bring a big new, updated version of the Mac’s software to owners of Apple silicon MacBook Airs, MacBook Pros, and other devices. New Messages, Notes, and other features will be well worth enjoying but just like Apple’s other software updates, this release will not have Apple Intelligence available until later in the beta cycle.
The update can be installed via the System Settings app as normal but again, make sure to install it on a test device rather than your main Mac wherever possible.
watchOS 11
Apple Watch software updates aren’t always the biggest and that is the case this time out as well. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t new features to enjoy of course, with the new Vitals support one of the biggest. The update can be installed via the Watch app on your iPhone.
tvOS 18
The tvOS 18 update is, as is so often the case, the least interesting of the new software updates. For that reason, we believe that most people should skip the beta entirely and then wait for the final version to be released to the public later this year. But for those who do need to test it, beta 3 is now available for download via the usual software update mechanism.
visionOS 2
When it comes to the Apple Vision Pro, the visionOS 2 update is the hardware’s first big software update. In terms of updates, SharePlay for Photos and a redesigned Photos app as a whole are notable improvements while initial beta testers have praised the performance and stability, too.
