Apple has always been known as one company that has an eye on the environment, and all of its hardware is made with recycling in mind. With devices made ostensibly of glass and aluminium, Apple’s device trade-in and product recycling program stops hardware from finding its way into landfill. Apple even dedicated a good chunk of its recent media event to recycling, so it’s fair to say that the planet is close to the company’s heart – you know, if a company could have a heart.
As part of its product recycling program, Apple is now handing out physical cards to those who trade in a device in order to pick up something shiny and new, with those cards featuring a URL that gives the recipient access to a free, environment-inspired wallpaper for the iOS device of their choice. There are three different designs on offer, and all can be downloaded with consulate ease.
In fact, it turns out that anyone can download the wallpapers because the URLs are not unique, and there’s even a handy dandy ZIP file that can be downloaded, which contains all of the wallpapers that fit each and every one of Apple’s iOS devices.
Of course, the easiest way to download one of the wallpapers is to visit Apple’s website on the device in question and just save the image right there, so we’d suggest going that route.
Each and every one of the wallpapers on offer were designed by Anthony Burrill, a renowned graphic artist, and were “inspired by nature and people coming together to help the planet.”
Dubbed “Nature in Balance,” “Nature in Harmony,” and “Nature in Us,” the artwork is certainly nice to look at and will make excellent wallpapers, especially on larger devices such as the iPad Pro. If you’re in need of a new wallpaper, be sure to check these out.
