Many sites these days require users to type in their email addresses in order to log in and register. On a traditional computer, it’s acceptable, but not on a smartphone where every second of your time is valuable. Double At is a new jailbreak tweak that makes typing your own email address just that much easier.
The way this jailbreak tweak is rather obvious, and genius. Once it’s installed, it will add a new section to the iOS Settings app with an email text field. Once you type in the email address you want this tweak to memorize and exit out of the Settings app, retrieving it can be done from the keyboard as easily as pressing the “@” sign on the iPhone’s soft keyboard twice. The email addressed you saved earlier will automatically be typed in the text field, how brilliant is that? We see this tweak more of a time saver rather than something which would make us productive, but at one point it might just do that, wouldn’t it?
If you’re still confused, don’t worry: think of this tweak as a permanent clipboard that saves an email address of your choice and lets you paste it anywhere you’d like by simply double tapping on the “@” sign. This makes the most sense when using your own email address, but of course you can set whatever address you’d like, as we’ve mentioned previously.
Still not sure how it works? Just watch the video below:
Just like any other unauthorized iOS customization, this one requires the device to be jailbroken beforehand. You can follow our step by step guide posted here to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 4.3.5 using Redsn0w (or PwnageTool), or on iOS 4.3.3 using Redsn0w, PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze & JailbreakMe (that last one being the easiest).
This tweak is available from the BigBoss repository, which should automatically be listed on Cydia. Just search for “Double At” and install the top result, and its highly likely that it will be the only result, unless you have other sources punched in on Cydia for getting tweaks and apps.
