The fact that there is still no Instagram app for the iPad is laughable in 2023, but don’t expect that to change any time soon. That’s after Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said that bringing the Instagram app to Apple’s tablet is not a priority.
The news comes after Mosseri answered some questions from users via his Instagram Stories, with the Instagram iPad app inevitably coming up.
He said that it’s not something that he’s “not working on it right now.” However, he did offer a ray of light when he said that an iPad Instagram app would be “a good thing to have at some point.”
When that will actually be is anyone’s guess, but it doesn’t seem like something that should take all that much work, either. It’s an app that displays photos and videos which shouldn’t be the most difficult of things for Meta’s developers to put together.
This isn’t the first time that Mosseri has poured cold water on the idea of an Instagram app coming to the iPad. In an interview with Marques Brownlee last year he warned that the iPad just doesn’t have enough users to make it a priority for Instagram.
That means that it could well be some time before that priority situation changes which means the best way to use Instagram on an iPad is likely to be the website for a long time yet.
