Such is the power and strength of the Apple brand, that it’s generally very rare for any retailer to slash the price of premium products by the company, like the latest retina MacBook Pro. From a consumer perspective, we’re asked to pay more for a MacBook than we would for the majority of Windows-based laptops, but the flip side being that they retain their value extremely well, meaning that when it comes to resale, there is generally a fair bit of money to be recouped. Thankfully, behemoth retailer Amazon is all about savings, and has thrown the cat amongst the pigeons with limited time deal, this time on Apple’s 13-inch retina MacBook Pro.
The retina MacBook Pro really doesn’t need any introductions. The machine has managed to find itself growing in popularity globally in recent years, which is extremely impressive considering the amount of cheaper Windows notebooks that are available from a slew of different manufacturers. This particular deal is applicable to the 13-inch retina MacBook Pro model only, with interested consumers being able to choose from an internal storage capacity of 128GB, or 512GB to suit their needs. Obviously, the higher the storage capacity the internal SSD, the higher the price for that upgrade, but higher the discount as well.
In addition to various storage capacities, consumers will receive a retina MacBook Pro kitted out with a 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 Broadwell processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz, but the 512GB model comes packing with a 2.9GHz Core i5 with up to 3.3GHz Turbo Boost. There’s an accompanying 8GB of onboard 1866MHz LPDDR3 RAM to give the machine an extra performance boost, as well as Intel Iris Graphics 6100, on both the models.
The 13-inch display is one of Apple’s LED-backlit IPS Retina display with a 2560-by-1600 pixel resolution. The machines come with OS X Yosemite pre-installed, and users can navigate and interact with the OS through Apple’s integrated Force Touch-enabled trackpad. Of course the OS can also be upgraded to OS X El Capitan for free.
The retina MacBook Pro here has been rated to last up to 10 hours on a single charge, so those who find themselves traveling a lot for work purposes, will find the MacBook Pro to be that perfect fit.
This particular deal is discounting the 128GB variant to $1,099.99 down from its original price of $1,300 at Apple. As for 512GB model, that one retails for $1,800 at Apple but as part of this deal is available for $1,499.99.
