Anyone on the lookout for a bargain Android smartphone may want to read on, especially if they like something a little bit different. Something that’s a break from the norm.
Those who remember the Nextbit Robin‘s original crowdfunding campaign may also remember that those buying via that campaign were able to pick up a Robin for $299, with that price having gone up $100 to $399 when the device went on general sale following the conclusion of the campaign. At $299, the Robin is a bit of a steal, especially if you dig its unusual styling and the somewhat unique software attempts at making internal storage a non-issue. Whatever your thoughts, a sub-$300 smartphone is always interesting.
Thankfully, those who missed out on the original crowdfunding price can now pick a Nextbit Robin up for just $299 once again, with the device now available at that price point for a week and May 10th being the last chance you will have to get your order in.
Available at that same price point in both the Mint and Midnight colors, the Nextbit Robin packs a 5.2-inch 1080p LCD display, complete with Gorilla Glass 4, a 13MP rear camera with phase detection, autofocus and dual-tone flash, and dual front-facing speakers for those who like their music loud. When it comes to storage, 32GB of internal storage is present, with Nextbit’s offer of 100GB of cloud-based storage making up the shortfall by moving apps and data onto Nextbit’s servers when they haven’t been accessed for a while. It’s a different take on an old storage problem, that’s for sure.
If a Nextbit Robin has been on your shopping list, whether that be for yourself or someone else, now would be a good time to pull the trigger. With just a few days before the price goes back up a whole $100, that’s a price drop you won’t want to miss out on.
