Cybertruck Outsells Competitors, Emerges As Most Popular EV Truck In US In Q3 2024

The Tesla Cybertruck has dominated the EV truck market in the third quarter, outselling its rivals by a significant margin.

According to a report by Kelley Blue Book, Tesla sold 16,692 Cybertrucks in the US, surpassing the combined sales of Rivian’s R1T and Ford’s F-150 Lightning. The two models saw sales of 7,162 and 3,817 respectively.

The GMC Sierra EV sold in the US saw 387 units being sold, while the GMC Hummer which comes in both truck and SUV models, sold 4,305 units. As one can already tell, the total sales of all these EVs still fall short of Cybetruck sales in Q3.

The Cybertruck is a relatively new concept and vehicle in the market but has quickly gained popularity, with sales ramping up since deliveries started in November.

That said, the sales of Cybertruck have been detrimental to other Tesla models, such as the Model S and X. Model S saw sales drop by a whopping 47% while the Model X slid down by 29%.

However, overall Tesla sales in the US rose by 7% to 166,923 which puts Tesla at the top of the food chain followed by GM Chevrolet which sold just 19,993 EVs.
