Xbox Game Pass subscribers can now download and play the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III game for the first time.
This is the first time that any Call of Duty game has become available via the Game Pass subscription, but it definitely won’t be the last.
Following Microsoft’s buyout of Activision Blizzard it was only a matter of time before a Call of Duty game made its way to Game Pass. The game is available for download as of today for Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. It also comes not long after Microsoft announced a Game Pass price hike, too, suggesting that the timing is no coincidence.
The Game Pass subscriptions increased by as much as 25% in some parts of the world, with the increase set to kick in from September 12.
As for future Call of Duty games, Microsoft is set to launch the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 game on Xbox Game Pass later this year.
“Existing Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass subscribers will get access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Game Pass,” The Verge Notes. “New members will need to subscribe to the top-tier Ultimate subscription to get day-one access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, or PC Game Pass.”
