The hotly anticipated BeatsX wireless earphones have now finally got a release date following what seems like an eternity. The earphones, which will be available in multiple colors to suit your individual style, offer a wireless experience which is becoming all the rage right now, especially following the release of Apple’s own AirPods late last year.
While the BeatsX aren’t quite as wireless as the AirPods – with a wire connecting the two earbuds together unlike AirPods – the earphones are Bluetooth enabled rather than requiring the traditional 3.5-mm headphone jack to be present on devices. That’s a good thing considering Apple nixed the jack from its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones last year, and continues a trend which other earphone makers have been following. Beats already offers wireless earphones itself, for example.
Those looking to pick up BeatsX will receive a pair of earphones which offer a built-in remote and microphone for making calls, while Beats also claims that the earphones offer an authentic sound, which isn’t something Beats earphones have been able to boast so far.
Another important feature is something Beats is calling Fast Fuel. According to Beats, the BeatsX’s Fast Fuel system means that a five-minute charge provides up to two hours of playback. From a full charge, BeatsX will run for a full eight hours before they need more juice.
Comfort is taken care by a “unique Flex-Form cable (which) provides all-day comfort and easy pocket portability, while eartip options provide a personalized fit and secure-fit wingtips offer added stability.”
BeatsX being the latest generation of Beats headphones, will also be taking advantage of the Apple’s W1 chip found in the AirPods, making pairing, range, battery life and management of the earphones a cinch.
All that tech doesn’t come cheap though – a set of BeatsX earphones will cost $149.95 and will be available in two colors: Black and White. Two other colors, Gray and Blue, will be available at a later date.
