Mac owners have to sit back and watch all other gaming platforms get the latest games month by month, and with the recent release of Batman Arkham City on all major gaming platforms, it appears that the Mac is starting to get looked at as a serious platform for gaming. It may be a little late in the world of gaming but yesterday we were greeted with the release of the 2009 hit gaming title: Batman Arkham Asylum.
As an avid gamer myself, when this game came out 2 years ago I had my doubts on whether it would live up to its super hero name. We have seen several releases over the years of different Batman games, and most of them fell short of what we wanted in the Batman video game, until this one. This game captivated me from the very second I put it on. The graphics were immense, the sound effects and music throughout the game made it very dark and we could all see that Batman Arkham Asylum was going to be a game we would spend hours playing. Some of the key features of this release are as follows:
• Square off against some of Gotham’s most notorious lunatics, including Harley Quinn, Killer Croc and Poison Ivy.
• Deploy an arsenal of upgradable gadgets, from a remote-control Batarang to a grappling gun and explosive gel.
• Use Detective Mode to identify important objects and reveal enemies’ weak spots.
• Deliver brutal combos with the innovative FreeFlow™ combat system.
• Move in the shadows and strike fear amongst your enemies.
Throughout the game you move from one shadow to another as you face Batman’s enemies, one of the most notable enemy from the game is The Joker, right from the start of the game you are greeted with a 3rd person view and cinematic entrance of bringing The Joker into Arkham Asylum. But from then on, it all goes very wrong, but I won’t give too much away or spoil it for anyone who is going to purchase said game for their OS X touting Mac.
All in all, I would heavily recommend these specs before you move forward; a Mac with a 2.8 GHz Intel processor with at least 4GB or RAM and 512MB of VRAM to play the game to its full potential, and of course; play it lag free. You can purchase Batman Arkham Asylum for a price of $39.99 which in our opinion is not bad, considering the fact that you can download the game from the convenience of the Mac App Store.
Have you already played Batman Arkham Asylum on other gaming platforms? if so, then which one? And will you be buying it for your Mac? As usual, leave all comments and thoughts on our Facebook fanpage.
