Bad News: If Your Apple Device Is At An Apple Store Being Repaired, You Can’t Get It Back Until Stores Open Again

With all of Apple’s worldwide stores closed – except those that are located in Greater China – there are a lot of Apple devices that are repaired and waiting for collection. But you can’t get them, as confirmed by Apple.

There was talk of some Apple Store employees working at closed Apple Stores so that people can collect repaired devices. But according to a Business Insider report, Apple says that anyone who hasn’t collected their repaired device is out of luck.

“We made every possible attempt to get people’s products back to them,” an Apple spokesperson told Business Insider. “There certainly are people that, for whatever reason, did not pick up their products before we closed and their products are at our stores.”

That’s bad news indeed, especially considering the fact we’ve no idea how long Apple will be keeping its stores closed.

The initial closure happened in an attempt to keep coronavirus infections to a minimum, but with infections continuing to very much rise it’s impossible to know when Apple will feel that it’s safe enough to re-open its stores. That’s not exactly what you wanted to hear if your business MacBook Pro is sat at Apple waiting to be collected.

There is at least some good news though. Apple says that it’s extending its return program so users have 14 days after a store re-opens in order to return unwanted products.
