The year 2010 started in a big way with major technology events starting from Google’s Android Conference in January where Nexus One was unveiled. International Consumer Electronics Show was the next to follow where devices like HP TM2 and HP Slate were announced. Then came the BIG Apple Tablet event which was held on January 27th where Steve Jobs announced the much hyped iPad.
The current generation of MacBook Pro’s are powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors. At CES 2010 last month, Intel officially unveiled Core i5 and Core i7 processors for the first time for portable computers. Apple’s MacBook Pro line is due for an upgrade this year and it would only be wise for Apple to ship these with Core i5/i7 processors as they are now the flagship chipsets of Intel.
Last month, Google announced to withdraw its services from mainland China following a series of sophisticated and coordinated hacking attacks dubbed as Operation Aurora, which targeted human rights activists’ Gmail accounts. These attacks originated from China and hence dismayed the authorities at Google who threatened, saying that it could no longer censor its search results on the Chinese version of Google homepage Google.cn.

Ingenious tipsters at Engadget, have discovered yet another fascinating fact deep inside the Frameworks of the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK, namely: the codename of the next iPhone. It was discovered buried deep inside the platform simulator set of folders dedicated to specific models of iPhone OS-ready devices, including the iPhone 3GS, second generation iPod touch, something that was called the "K48" (the codename was the internal name for the iPad), and... the "N89." Sure, it sounds like a Nokia phone just waiting to happen. No this is not Nokia but this according to extremely knowledgeable and trusted sources, is the likely codename of the next iPhone (previous versions were called the M68, N82, and N88).
Steve Jobs surely didn’t tell us everything about the iPad when it was unveiled last Wednesday. This must be part of his business strategy to keep some of these features for the future version of iPad, just like what they did with the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and then 3GS.
The birth of iPad on January 27 has created waves all over the tech. world. In a sudden and surprise move, noticed Friday evening by many bloggers, books from Macmillan, one of the largest publishers in the United States, have been removed from Amazon.com. The disappearance came in the wake of a dispute between Amazon.com and different book publishers that have been brewing between them for the last year or so. Macmillan, like other publishers, demanded Amazon to raise the price of electronic books from $9.99 to $15. Amazon expressed its strong disagreement reacted by temporarily removing Macmillan books. If this doesn't signal the upcoming eBooks/price war between Apple and Amazon? then I wonder what will.
For last few months, there were lot of speculations about the Apple’s upcoming tablet device. Lots of controversies in the meanwhile developed with respect to its features and more so to its naming.
