Moviefone has just dropped a rather interesting new poster for the Steve Jobs-based movie starring Ashton Kutcher. Jobs, which is set to release worldwide on 16th of August, is greatly anticipated within tech circles, and never shy of a tagline or slogan himself, this poster of very first flick telling the story of the great man features one of its own. “Some see what’s possible, others change what’s possible” appears to be the take-home message from this most colorful of posters, which sees Kutcher made up as a very passable double to the late, great Apple co-founder.
Although the official Jobs movie trailer, which was released a couple of weeks back, shows just how Jobs-like Kutcher becomes in the movie, this poster could easily be mistaken for the man himself, and although we’ll have to wait and see whether Jobs is good or not, the work that has gone into creating the character is pretty admirable.
As many of you will be already more than aware, Jobs is not the only confirmed movie set to offer a glimpse into the life and times of Steve Jobs. In fact, Aaron Sorkin’s Sony-commissioned effort, which will be loosely based on the official biography by Walter Isaacson, is arguably the one to look out for, particularly given Sorkin’s stripes in turning fascinating tech stories into great movies.
From what we’ve heard from Sorkin himself, the second Jobs-based movie will take a much different prose to Jobs, instead playing out just three scenes from vital product launches. Shot in real time, it will allow Sorkin to really build the character of Steve Jobs, and with such a long list of achievements in his life, this is probably just as well.
Anyhow, Jobs is the first to reach cinemas, and will do so on August 16th. The movie was initially scheduled for a spring release, but unforeseen delays pushed things back to midsummer. For a short while, things were really up in the air, with no real information after the premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, but it would seem as though everything has now been readied for this finalized date slap-bang in the middle of August.
Here’s the poster in its full glory, which is heavily influenced by the old colorful, Apple logo, we believe the designer has done a good job at this!
