Apple’s Next Entry-Level iPad Could Get A New Magic Keyboard

Apple recently launched the M4 iPad Pro with a new keyboard, but the company is now thought to also be working on a new Magic Keyboard designed with the entry-level iPad in mind.

That’s according to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in the weekly Power On newsletter.

According to Gurman, Apple suppliers are thought to be working on a new iPad keyboard that will launch next year.

It’s expected to follow the recent iPad Pro Magic Keyboard refresh in featuring a more sturdy construction, but that’s also set to bring with it an increase in cost.

Now, I’m told that Apple suppliers are hard at work on a new iPad keyboard for next year. This accessory will be a low-end version that may be designed for an entry-level iPad or the new iPad Airs. I’m told it will lack pricier components like the metal palm rest, but will have some new features — perhaps including a function row. The product should be released by the middle of next year if all goes to plan.

If the new keyboard mirrors the iPad Pro model we can expect a more durable design thanks to the use of metals, while a larger trackpad and a row of function keys could also be on the agenda. We’ll have to wait until we get closer to the launch in order to be sure, however.
