Apple’s New MacBook Air Might Not Come In As Many Colors As Thought

There have been rumors for a number of months now that suggested Apple was getting ready to announce a new MacBook Air that would be sold in multiple colors.

While Apple already offers a couple of color options for MacBook Air buyers, the rumors claimed that we would get a new lineup similar to that of the 24-inch iMac. However, with Apple now set to announce that product on Monday, June 6, we’re now hearing that those rumors could have been wrong.

Writing on Twitter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that he doesn’t believe that we will see a ton of new colors added to the lineup when the MacBook Air is refreshed. Instead, Gurman expects the new machine to be offered in Space Gray, Silver, and Gold as well as one new color – Gurman’s favorite iMac color which, according to an image he posted, is blue.

The much-reported idea of the new MacBook Air coming in a range of “several colors” is probably exaggerated. Right now it comes in space gray, silver and gold. I wouldn’t expect more than those colors (though the new gold will be more champagne like) plus my favorite iMac color.

Beyond the color, the new MacBook Air is expected to have a new look while the arrival of second-generation Apple silicon is also possible. The M2 chip could be announced as part of the new MacBook Air lineup, according to reports.

Apple is now expected to announce the new MacBook Air during the WWDC opening keynote on Monday.
