Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger Might Launch Later This Month

Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger still hasn’t been released despite being announced more than a month ago, but it might be coming soon according to a Swiss Apple reseller.

Digitec Galaxus is a store that resells Apple products in Switzerland and it currently has the $129 MagSafe Duo Charger available for pre-order. However, the site’s text suggests that we can expect the accessory to go on sale before December 23.

Apple never said exactly when the charger would go on sale but it did suggest that it would be before the end of the year.

However, there’s no indication as to whether the Swiss retailer knows something we don’t or is simply putting a finger in the air and guessing. We do know that the press already have the charger, so it can’t possibly be that long before it goes on sale.

The charger is capable of powering an iPhone via MagSafe and an Apple Watch at the same time.

It won’t come with a USB charger in the box, though, adding an extra expense to an accessory that is already a bit on the costly side. It remains to be seen just how popular this thing is, but we’d suspect the answer to that is a very lukewarm “not very”.
