Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max Might Get 20% Smaller Bezels Compared To Previous Model

Apple is expected to announce a slew of new iPhones in or around September and one of those devices has been the subject of a new leap. Supposed CAD renders of the iPhone 14 Pro Max have been shared to Twitter by ShrimpApplePro, an as-yet-unknown account.

The account’s lack of history would suggest that all of this be taken with a pinch of salt, but that aside we’re seeing much of what we’ve already been told to expect from this year’s Pro iPhones.

That means a pill + hole-punch design replacing the Face ID notch as expected, although the overall shape of the devices is much the same as last year’s iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, things might differ when you get to the size of the screen’s bezels, reports MacRumors.

The ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max’s bezels will reportedly be 1.95mm thick, a moderate reduction compared to the ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ Max’s 2.42mm bezels. One reason for the reduced bezels could be to make more space between the top bezel of the device and the top of the new pill and hole-punch cutouts. With these reduced bezels, the top of the cutouts will purportedly sit 2.29mm below the top bezel of the display.

Of course, whether most people are ever going to notice that difference is another matter — assuming this leak is genuine.

The biggest difference is undoubtedly the removal of the notch, although all eyes will be on Apple to see whether it actually makes any use of the extra screen space it will allow.
