Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max is undoubtedly a big. beautiful phone and with that new ProMotion display what’s on it looks just as great, too. In fact, that display is so special that DisplayMate has given it an award, making it as the best ever display it has tested.
Throughout the report, which includes various different aspects of smartphone display testing, DisplayMate says that the iPhone 13 Pro Max was able to either set or match 12 of its performance records — perhaps explaining why the display is so well thought of.

DisplayMate calls out the new 120Hz refresh rate as one of the reasons the display is so good, while the smaller Face ID notch also got a shout-out.
Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch OLED panel featuring a variable refresh rate of anywhere from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on what is being displayed.
The panel is also one of the reasons the iPhone 13 Pro Max is such a battery life monster, thanks to that variable refresh rate and its ability to sit at just 10Hz when only static content is being displayed.
Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max went on sale last week and has already proven popular among early adopters.
