After all the rumors and guesses we now know for sure what Apple Watch Series 7 will have to offer and, more importantly, how much we will have to pay to get out hands on one.
The new watch is a some what of a departure from what we’ve seen before. But let’s take a deeper look, shall we?
Features
In terms of new features, there aren’t any new health sensors which is a shame. It looks like we are going to need to wait another year for those. There’s a speedy new S7 chip inside that will make this watch faster than ever, something that will be a benefit to watchOS 8 and third-party apps alike.
Given the new slimmer bezels, we have new watch faces as well.
How about a QWERTY keyboard now that you have enough of a display area? You can type on it or swipe on it to use QuickPath.
But does this make the watch any less durable? Apple believes no. “Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch ever, with a stronger, more crack-resistant front crystal. It is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for resistance to dust, and maintains a WR50 water resistance rating.”
Colors
We have new colors making their way to the Aluminum models, as well as the Stainless Steel option. A total of five colorways for the aluminum casing, we are looking at Midnight, Starlight, Green, a new Blue, and (PRODUCT)RED.
Those of you looking over at the Stainless Steel model, you get Silver, Graphite, and Gold.
New watch bands are also on offer, while the display has grown slightly — 41mm and 45mm are the two options available. Nike+ and Hermes versions are also available, along with new bands with new materials and colors.
Price
Just like previous models, Apple Watch Series 7 will start at $399 depending on the screen size, finish, and watch band you choose.
- 41mm: Starting at $399 | $499 for GPS+Cellular
- 45mm: Starting at $429 | $529 for GPS+Cellular
Release Date
Apple Watch Series 7 will be available later this year, sometimes in fall.
