If everything goes the way that we expect it to, Apple will announce a slew of new iPhones and Apple Watches on September 9.
One of those announcements will be the Apple Watch Series 10 or, as some believe it may be called, Apple Watch X. And now a new report suggests that it could finally support the sleep apnea detection that has been rumored for years.
According to a Bloomberg report detailing what we should expect Apple to announce next week, Apple will bring sleep apnea support to the Apple Watch Series 10, although it might not be available on day one. That means that buyers might have to wait for a later software update before the sleep apnea detection feature is ready.
A major new health feature is coming, though: sleep apnea detection, which will build on the existing sleep tracking. This feature will attempt to determine if a wearer has sleep apnea and then suggest further testing with a medical professional. While Apple has been preparing to announce it, the enhancement may not be available on day one of the new model going on sale.
A delay in a feature is nothing new, of course. Apple will announce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models at the same event while focusing on Apple Intelligence — but the feature won’t be available until iOS 18.1 ships later this year.
