The Apple Watch is is heading to seven new countries starting June 26. The Cupertino giant has just issued a press release detailing the countries that will be getting its new wearable, though the best part of the news is entirely something else. Apple has announced that the Watch will finally be hitting Apple Store shelves in two weeks’ time.
Apple has been facing some serious production constraints that were limiting the availability of the Apple Watch since it was launched in April this year, forcing the company to keep the wrist-worn-device exclusive to online ordering. Recent reports however have suggested that the company has managed to tackle those constraints as production seems to be ramping up, and this announcement of expansion of Apple Watch sales into new territories is a great testament to that.
Starting the 26th of June, customers in these second-wave launch countries will be able to order their Apple Watch online, or by walking into an Apple Store though the retail stores may only stock a select few models, and it’s not clear which ones would those be at this point. However, we might get an idea soon enough as Apple plans on selling the Watch through the retail Apple Stores across the United States in two weeks from now.
The new countries happen to be:
- Italy
- Mexico
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Spain
- Switzerland
- Taiwan
Apple will be releasing select models of the Watch at “10 Corso Como in Milan, BOONTHESHOP Cheongdam in Seoul, and Malmaison by The Hour Glass in Singapore.”
Meanwhile, if you have placed your Apple Watch order through May, Apple is saying that “All orders placed through May, with the sole exception of Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet, will ship to customers within two weeks. At that time, we’ll also begin selling some models in our Apple Retail Stores.” It looks like the company is looking to clear the backlog of existing orders from May at least, before bringing it into its retail outlets.
