Apple Video Streaming Details Leak Along With Price, Roku Could Get The New Service Too

Today is the day that Apple finally announces the video streaming service that we have been expecting for so, so long now.

There’s an event taking place in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park and it’s sure to be a big deal, with a game subscription service, a news and magazine subscription service, and even a financial service all set to make this the day Apple really goes all-in on its services play.

The most interesting of the services is the video streaming one, and it’s something Apple has been struggling with for years. The Wall Street Journal has shared what it expects Apple to announce, and that includes a chargeable fee for the first-party content that Apple has been making with big names such as Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell.

There’s also set to be a renewed TV app on iOS that will make it easier for users to subscribe to other services, including HBO and Showtime, although pricing for that isn’t clear at the moment.

Apple is also said to be trying to get that same TV app onto multiple platforms, such as Roku, something that may have already begun with the news that iTunes will be arriving on some TV sets this year, too.

Alongside video, the news and magazine service is expected to include around 200 magazines, with a $9.99 per month subscription required to access them all. A new Apple News app is going to be the home for all of this, apparently, although we’d have expected magazines to be part of the Books app, rather than News.

Less is known about the financial or gaming subscription services, and with just hours to go before Apple takes the wraps off everything, we will know all of the details soon enough. We can’t wait for all the guessing to be over!
