Apple today announced that Apple TV+ has reached an agreement with activist Malala Yousafzai to create special content for the streaming service.
The deal will reportedly include dramas, comedies, documentaries, animation, and children’s series according to a new Apple Newsroom post.
Malala Yousafzai published a best-selling memoir at the age of 16 and has remained in the public eye since. She also gets involved in various projects and funds around the world to help ensure young girls get the education they deserve.
“I believe in the power of stories to bring families together, forge friendships, build movements, and inspire children to dream,” said Malala Yousafzai. “And I couldn’t ask for a better partner than Apple to help bring these stories to life. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support women, young people, writers, and artists in reflecting the world as they see it.”
Yousafzai also founded the Malala Fund to “champion every girl’s right to 12 years of safe, free, quality education” and remains an inspiration.
Apple TV+ hasn’t yet confirmed what content we can look forward to specifically, but once it does arrive viewers will need a $4.99 per month Apple TV+ subscription. That subscription is also part of the Apple One subscription, too. The streaming service can be watched on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
