News is coming in that Apple is looking to progress its iPad Pro lineup by introducing three new models sometime around spring 2017.
Sources close to Apple believe that the three new tablets will carry different display sizes, but unlike before, will come packed with “Pro” features that will appeal to consumers looking for a tablet that offers an array of features that could be equally as beneficial in a home or office environment.
It is being suggested that Apple will introduce 12.9-inch, 10.1-inch, and 7.9-inch iPad Pro models, presumably designed to appeal to all potential consumers regardless of the size of the device that they are looking for. The new 12.9-inch device will replace the existing original iPad Pro model from 2015, and will apparently come equipped with a 12-megapixel iSight camera with integrated True Tone flash. The report is also suggesting that the hardware will ship with a True Tone display similar to the existing 9.7-inch iPad Pro, which uses four-channel ambient light sensors to adjust the display to match the environment.
What’s particularly interesting about the report is that, if accurate, it looks as though Apple could replace the existing iPad mini 4 with a 7.9-inch iPad Pro model. It’s being suggested that this model would also ship with a True Tone display, a 12-megapixel rear-facing iSight camera, as well as the aforementioned True Tone flash that would suggest that the Cupertino-based company is looking to standardize features and technical specifications across all of its iPad hardware.
As for the 10.1-inch iPad Pro, this particular model will in fact be replacing the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro which was released this year back in March.
As you may have already guessed, this particular model will also be packing the same standard set of features and hardware planned for the 12.9 and 7.9-inch iPad Pro devices. Surprisingly, all three new iPads are rumored to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack, but will ship with a quad microphone setup.
This latest information hit the web pertaining to Apple’s iPad plans does seem to corroborate some information that has landed in the public domain from more reputable sources. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously stated his belief that Apple will release three iPads in 2017, with the difference being that no mention was made of a 7.9-inch transition from iPad mini 4 to iPad Pro.
For now we would take this news with a pinch of salt until some more concrete information makes it to the surface.
