If a new report is to be believed, Apple has removed WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal and Threads apps from the App Store in China.
This is happened after an authority in China ordered the removal of these apps due to security concerns in the country and Apple had to comply with it.
Apple has shared in a statement issued to select media outlets that China’s national internet regulator authority has ordered the removal of the aforementioned apps from the App Store in the country due to unspecified “national security concerns” they had from them.
Apple says it is “obligated to follow the laws in the countries where we operate, even when we disagree.”
It’s important to note that Apple as a company has complied with similar requests in the past as well in China.
