Apple has today released two new updates for your Apple TV and HomePod, both arriving a couple of weeks after the last ones were made available to the public.
Today’s releases include tvOS 16.3.1 and HomePod 16.3.1 updates, both following on from the tvOS 16.3 and HomePod 16.3 releases.
In terms of what’s new and changed, we don’t expect there to be a great deal to get too excited about in these particular updates. In terms of the HomePod update, the release notes simply say that it includes performance and stability updates without going into specifics.
However, the tvOS 16.3.1 release notes haven’t yet been made available so it’s possible that there is something a little more juice in there. It isn’t likely, however.
Those who haven’t yet updated their Apple TV or don’t have automatic updates enabled can update now by opening the Settings app and choosing System followed by Software Update.
HomePod software updates are installed automatically normally, but it’s possible you may have disabled the feature. If that’s the case you can have your HomePod automatically check for and install the update via its configuration page within the Home app.
As always, we’d suggest installing these updates sooner rather than later so that you can benefit from any bug fixes that might have been brought to bear by these releases.
