Apple has today released the third public beta to those who are part of the public beta program, giving them the chance to take the latest update for a spin. This beta corresponds to the fifth developer beta that was made available for download yesterday.
The new update, which is available for download via the Settings app for those who have the correct public beta profile installed, includes a number of changes including the return of the battery percentage on modern iPhones.
That percentage appears within the exiting battery icon and can be disabled if people prefer. The other notable change is one that gives people the chance to copy and then delete newly-taken screenshots.
The big iOS 16 update is likely to be made available to the world at some point next month and will include changes to almost every aspect of the iPhone. Improvements include the ability to edit and undo send iMessage while emails can also be unsent if the need arises.
Changes also cover Safari including the ability to share tab groups with others. Perhaps the biggest change is the ability to customize the Lock Screen with widgets and new wallpaper effects.
Apple first announced iOS 16 during the June 6 WWDC event and has been releasing betas at a steady pace ever since. Betas are also available for iPadOS 16, tvOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, and watchOS 9.
