Cupertino-based Apple Inc. has officially seeded the first betas of iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 to registered developers. This latest release follows hot on the heels of the public release of iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2.
Because this beta release follows quickly on from the public release of iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3, it’s reasonable to assume that Apple hasn’t exactly packed the firmware full of changes and improvements.
It’s also worth noting that this is another point release, which means that it likely includes nothing more than bug fixes and performance enhancements designed to make the experience a lot more enjoyable on all compatible iPhone and iPad devices.
Unfortunately, Apple is yet to introduce a number of expected features through the few software releases that have followed on from the initial release of iOS 15.0. Device owners and developers are expected to gain access to Universal Control and IDs for use within the native Wallet app.
Given that Apple hasn’t really addressed these features recently, or talked about them, it feels like the company will use iOS/iPadOS 15.4 to introduce them to the masses. Of course, developers will get their hands on them in the first instance.
Registered developers who are interested in testing out iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 can download the firmware through the Apple Developer Center. Alternatively, if a configuration profile is installed correctly to a compatible device, the latest beta releases will show up as available downloads via Settings > General > Software Update.
As always, if you are a developer looking to try out this latest slew of betas, make sure you install directly to a secondary device rather than a daily driver. Also, please ensure that any issues, feedback, or bugs are reported directly to Apple. After all, that is the point of beta software and why Apple gives access to developers before the general public.
