We’re getting closer to an official iOS 11 launch alongside iPhone 8. To mark that occasion, Apple is ramping up its marketing efforts to promote iOS 11 with the release of a series of videos which highlight some of the platform’s more impressive features when used in conjunction with one of the company’s iPads.
Apple’s executive team took the opportunity to walk through a number of the more marquee features during this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) back in June. Some of the smaller and more impressive refinements have also come to light over the course of the six issued developer betas.
Apple is now taking the opportunity to act in a more official capacity by uploading six videos to its YouTube channel, each of which is approximately 60-seconds long, focusing on certain features of the platform. The uploaded videos include Apple showing off the power of the new Dock, the use of the Apple Pencil for mark up features, swift and efficient file browsing, multitasking, scanning and signing a document, and one particular video showing of how to get the most of your hands with iOS 11.
Some of the video titles immediately give viewers an insight into what they are going to get from the video. As an example, if you were to watch the “How to mark stuff up with Apple Pencil” clip, you know that Apple is going to give an overview of the new markup features in iOS 11 using the iPad Pro accessory. However, with uploads such as “How to get the most out of your hands with iOS 11”, the waters are a little murkier and confusing.
For clarity, Apple uses that video to show iPad users how to drag, drop, and manipulate multiple images using two hands. All of the videos are designed and put together to give users a quick and effective overview of how individual features are used and interacted with, which is really perfect timing considering we are fast approaching an official iOS 11 public release.
iPad owners who have been using each beta of iOS 11 will likely be familiar with a lot of tips included in these videos, but for those who are waiting for the official launch, it acts as a great informational resource.
