Fans of Apple Pay in Israel are in for a good day after multiple banks enabled support for the contactless payment method today.
Not all cards are supported however, so make sure to check with your card issue before trying to add your card to the Wallet app on your iPhone. Both debit cards and credit cards are supposed.
First reported by The Verifier, the move is one that has long been rumored and now that it’s here Apple can check another country off its growing list of those with Apple Pay supporting banks.
Apple launched (Wednesday, 5.5) this morning the payment service on Apple Pay mobile in Israel. The launch means that customers of all banks and credit card companies in Israel will now be able to add the credit card or direct debit card to the service on the iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac computers.
Once you add your card to the Wallet app on your iPhone you’ll be able to make payments via Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac as well – once you’ve done some additional setup work, of course.
Apple Pay has been around in most countries for a long time now but it continues to come to those that have so far been left out. Israel certainly won’t be the last to get in on the act.
