Apple Launches Immersive Video Utility App For Mac And Vision Pro Creators

Apple just rolled out a new macOS app called Apple Immersive Video Utility, and if you’re into next-level video experiences or working on creating them, this one’s worth checking out.

At its core, the app is designed to help users manage Apple Immersive Videos, which are set in 8K resolution, 180-degree field of view, and Spatial Audio.

You’ll find content like The Weeknd’s performances or Metallica’s concerts shot in this format, delivering a whole new layer of immersion when viewed on Apple Vision Pro.

With the new utility, you can import, organize, and package immersive video files on your Mac. It’s aimed primarily at creators and post-production pros, but it’s available to everyone for free on the Mac App Store (and yes, there’s a visionOS version too). The only catch? It’s currently only in U.S. English.

One of the standout features is its support for syncing multiple Vision Pro headsets which is ideal for group sessions or collaborative reviews. You can create playlists, inspect and edit metadata, and even modify the content package itself to fine-tune things before distribution.

Apple says you can stream directly to one or more Vision Pro devices for previewing or playback. And for developers or studios working with immersive media, it’s a handy tool to streamline the workflow.

While it’s geared toward professionals, anyone curious about how immersive video content is managed and reviewed can download the app now. It’s part of Apple’s broader push to expand its spatial content ecosystem—and it looks like Vision Pro users are just getting started.
