Apple continues to work towards bringing the power of AI to bear on its devices and CEO Tim Cook says that the company is investing a “tremendous amount of time and effort” on the technology.
We can also safely assume that there is plenty of money being spent, too.
Cook was speaking during the company’s recent earnings call when he laid out plans for the coming year, saying that a focus on AI is very much underway.
“As we look ahead, we will continue to invest in these and other technologies that will shape the future. That includes artificial intelligence, where we continue to spend a tremendous amount of time and effort and we’re excited to share the details of our ongoing work in that space later this year.”
There have been rumors for some time now that Apple is working on updates to the iPhone, iPad, and other software that will see Siri’s capabilities improve considerably. The iOS 18 update is one that has been discussed in various reports, while we can also expect AI’s use throughout the rest of Apple’s ecosystem to increase as well.
Apple’s Vision Pro headset has launched which also includes a Siri component and there are some expectations that Apple will be able to give the mixed reality headset improved capabilities later this year as a result of its push into AI.
